Background: Pain is one of the most common and clinically significant symptoms in patients with cancer and has a substantial impact on their quality of life. Nurses play a key role in pain assessment, monitoring treatment effectiveness, and educating patients. However, insufficient knowledge and inappropriate attitudes among healthcare professionals may lead to underestimation of pain and inadequate cancer pain management. Lucie Křáková, David Školoudík
Ošetřovatelské perspektivy 2026, 9(1):25-37 | DOI: 10.25142/osp.2026.005
Background: Parkinson’s disease is a chronic, progressive, neurodegenerative disorder that leads to the loss of neurons in the substantia nigra. Quality of life is affected not only by the severity of motor impairments – which include, for example, tremor, rigidity, and bradykinesia – but also by non-motor symptoms, which have recently received increased attention. Aim: Based on the identified studies, create an overview of the...

One preventive option is scalp cooling, which may help reduce the risk of chemotherapy-induced alopecia. Aim: The aim of this study is to evaluate the effectiveness of scalp cooling therapy in breast cancer patients undergoing cytotoxic treatment. Methodology: This prospective observational study included a total of 29 patients. Anthracycline-based therapy was administered in 75,9% of cases. The degree of alopecia was assessed using the Dean scale, with alopecia ≤ 50% considered a successful outcome....
